Tomasz Adamek ((:ˈtɔmaʂ aˈdamɛk); born 1 December 1976) is a Polish professional boxer. He is a former WBC light heavyweight champion, as well as a former IBF, IBO and ''The Ring'' magazine cruiserweight champion. Adamek was the first Polish winner of both the "Muhammad Ali Giant Athlete Award", and the first Polish boxer to win a championship belt by ''The Ring''.
== Early life and amateur career ==
Adamek was born in Żywiec, Poland. He began boxing at age 12 in boxing club Góral Żywiec with his trainers Stefan Gawron and Stanisław Orlicki.
